The life of this saint
Monica was a Christian wife and mother in North Africa whose persistent prayer accompanied her son Augustine through years of searching and resistance. She lived to see his conversion and baptism before he became one of the Church’s great saints and teachers.

St. Monica, faithful mother and woman of persevering prayer, intercede for the person I carry in my heart. Ask Jesus to draw them gently toward truth, healing, and the life of faith. Guard me from despair or control, and teach me to love patiently while trusting God’s time. Amen.
